I started out as a hockey player from Thunder Bay, ON who was introduced to the sport of cycling by my high school football coach, Harry Curtis, who also happened to be my shop teacher. Harry recognized that hockey was my priority and felt that cycling would be the perfect way for me to stay in shape for hockey during the summer months. I took him up on that offer. And the rest, as is often said, is history.
I'm probably best known as 'that shampoo guy that went to the Olympics', I really was just a kid from Thunder Bay who found a way to push his limits each & every day, doing what I loved to do, while wearing the flag of the country that I adore. 4 Olympics, 2 PanAms, 2 Commonwealth Games, many World Championships, World Cups, a WR, and yes, a shampoo commercial later, what you see is what you get. Oh, and every once in awhile I get a haircut.
Some people never want to be part of the process, they just want to be part of the outcome. I thrive on being a part of the process.
